Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes – The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes is one of the most important fine arts museums in France, located in the heart of Rennes, Brittany. Founded in 1794 following the French Revolution, the museum occupies a purpose-built neoclassical building constructed in the 1850s. The collection spans from ancient Egypt to contemporary art, with particular strength in European painting from the 14th to 21st centuries. The museum holds significant works by masters such as Veronese, Rubens, Georges de La Tour, Chardin, Boucher, Corot, Sisley, Gauguin, and Picasso. The museum is especially renowned for its exceptional collection of drawings and its important holdings of 17th-century French and Flemish painting. The cabinet of drawings, with over 4,000 sheets, is considered one of the finest in France outside Paris.
