Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nancy – The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nancy is one of the oldest museums in France, located on the elegant Place Stanislas in Nancy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded in 1793, the museum is housed in a pavilion of the magnificent 18th-century architectural ensemble designed by Emmanuel Héré for Stanisław Leszczyński, the former King of Poland and Duke of Lorraine. The collection spans European art from the 14th to 21st centuries, with exceptional holdings of Italian, French, and Dutch masters. The museum features significant works by Perugino, Caravaggio, Rubens, Georges de La Tour, Claude Lorrain, Delacroix, Monet, and Modigliani. The museum is particularly renowned for its outstanding collection of glass art by the École de Nancy, including masterpieces by Émile Gallé and the Daum brothers, as well as its remarkable holdings of works by Georges de La Tour, who was born in the Lorraine region.
