Musée des Beaux-Arts d’Angers – The Musée des Beaux-Arts d’Angers is housed in the historic Logis Barrault, a magnificent Renaissance mansion built in the late 15th century in the heart of Angers. Founded in 1797, the museum holds an important collection of fine arts spanning from the 14th to 21st centuries, with exceptional holdings of paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. The collection features significant works by French and European masters including Fra Angelico, Watteau, Fragonard, Boucher, Ingres, Corot, and Monet. The museum is particularly renowned for its outstanding collection of 18th-century French painting, its important holdings of medieval and Renaissance art, and its modern and contemporary art collections. The building itself, with its elegant Renaissance architecture and sculptural details, is considered one of the finest examples of late Gothic civil architecture in the Loire Valley region.
