PONTIUS, Paulus – Paulus Pontius was a Flemish engraver and painter. He was one of the leading engravers connected with the workshop of Peter Paul Rubens. After Rubens‘ death, Pontius worked with other leading Antwerp painters such as Anthony van Dyck and Jacob Jordaens.
